Amazon Mangroves, the program’s first public call for proposals, is launched. It will allocate R$ 44.4 million to up to nine selected ecological restoration initiatives in mangroves and restingas [coastal forests] along the Brazilian coast.

2022 Results
At the Climate COP27, in Egypt, a USD 3.8 million-support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation to quilombola projects in Pará was announced. FAO also mobilized R$ 11 million from legal obligations and donations for conservation projects in the state.

In the fifth edition, 30 proposals were selected among the almost 300 received. Since 2018, 164 fellows have had field research supported by the program, a joint initiative with the Instituto humanize that allocates R$ 1 million to projects every year.
